The Omokoroa project is positioned to capture breathtaking views of the nearby harbour, the design of the house maximised the outlook, offering residents a daily connection with the natural beauty of the surrounding environment. A standout feature of the interior design was the feature ceiling, meticulously crafted to add architectural interest and enhance the sense of space and luxury within the home.
The shape of both the site and the house itself presented a challenge and an opportunity. The design successfully integrated the irregular shape of the site into the layout of the house, resulting in a distinctive and visually striking structure.
Working with the irregular shape of the site required innovative design solutions to maximise space utilisation while ensuring structural integrity and adherence to building codes. Collaborative efforts between the architect and contractors resulted in a design that harmoniously blended with the contours of the land.
The desire to maximise natural light presented challenges in balancing energy efficiency and maintaining thermal comfort. Through careful consideration of window placement, skylight design, and the selection of high-performance glazing, the project achieved an optimal balance, allowing abundant natural light while minimising heat loss and gain.
Dylan, the Project Manager, says "The project is a testament to collaboration and creativity. By leveraging the unique features of the site and incorporating innovative design solutions, we were able to deliver a home that not only meets the functional needs of the client but also celebrates the natural beauty of its surroundings."
