Introducing Pacific View Development, a bespoke architectural marvel nestled in the scenic locale of Whiritoa. This distinctive development, comprising two units, emerges from the remnants of a 1980’s bach, rejuvenating the site with contemporary elegance.

In line with the client's vision, the essence of the original bach is preserved, seamlessly integrating its vernacular charm into a modern design ethos. The primary aim was to craft a spacious haven for the client and their family, replete with entertainment options and provisions for future versatility.

The resultant structure spans three levels, with the uppermost level dedicated to Unit A, while Unit B sprawls across the lower two levels. Externally, the dwelling presents a harmonious blend of simplicity and sophistication. A cleverly designed facade, adorned with a batten system atop horizontal weatherboards, creates dynamic visual interplays, accentuated by the play of sunlight and shadow.

From the street, the dwelling exudes an understated allure, with its gently folded roofline gracefully embracing the horizon. Concealed within this facade lies a layout that prioritises privacy, shielding the lower levels from prying eyes and seamlessly integrating them into the landscape.

Upon entry, a curved block wall guides visitors into an intriguingly darkened foyer, veiling the interior from external gazes. As one traverses through the tunnel-like hallway, the journey is marked by the tactile allure of reclaimed kauri flooring, leading towards a luminous expanse of living space. Here, expansive vistas of the Pacific Ocean and Mayor Island unfold, complemented by the warmth of reclaimed kauri elements juxtaposed with sleek chipboard finishes.

Unit B encompasses a versatile array of spaces across the lower levels, facilitating distinct activities while maintaining seamless connectivity. The main living area, graced with three bedrooms, a study nook, and ample living spaces, epitomises comfort and functionality. A sprawling balcony beckons for moments of relaxation amidst panoramic ocean views.

Descending via a grand stairwell, occupants are greeted by a nexus of activity, with a double garage/workshop on one side, a vibrant rumpus/games room on the other, and a private 'Granny Flat' tucked away for added seclusion. This self-contained retreat offers myriad possibilities, from seasonal rentals to providing a serene abode for visiting family.
